I'm Back!

With this post, my second, I have already succeeded in bettering my previous blogging attempts. I'll take any success I can at this point.

Yesterday didn't turn out quite like I had planned. Unless you consider sitting on the couch and watching TV and a movie a healthy workout (if only!), I didn't do myself any favors. My food choices weren't any better and I'll leave it at that. Let's just say there's a reason I give up several things for Lent, so when I eventually goof up on one of them I'm still technically participating in the annual Lenten practice of giving something up.

My Sunday morning is already off to a promising start. I made a good breakfast (scrambled eggs with basil and tomatoes and whole wheat toast-no butter) and I spent quality time with my dear friend Jillian via DVD. I forgot how much I hate shoulder raises. I considered that maybe I need lighter weights for that exercise, but I don't want to spend the money. I'll just grin and bear it - metaphorically speaking because I'm pretty sure I wasn't grinning.

Oh, I figured out that my local farmer's market is the 1st Saturday of every month. I missed this month's, but I'll try to go in April. As a substitute, I signed up for my first Chef-to-Chef pickup. It's a company here in Phoenix that provides fresh, locally grown produce. I pick my bag up this Saturday and I'm very excited.

I'm headed into the office this afternoon and if I don't have to stay too late I may try to get a walk or run in.

'Til next time...

  1. I'm excited to hear about your produce pick up. I am anxiously awaiting the beginning of our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) season. Weather permitting we'll get our first delivery in May.
